ASSOCIATION  OBJECTIVES

 

 To bind together all practioners of Cosmetology in Michigan and to encourage the formation of  active affiliates for the protection of local needs and requirements.

 

To foster and promote the best interests of the cosmetology professional and advocate high ideals and standards therein.

 

To promote a feeling of mutual esteem, goodwill, harmony and co-operation for the general good of the membership.

 

To encourage and facilitate interchange of views regarding important matters affecting the cosmetology profession as a whole.

 

To promote a year-round public relations program for the benefit of the Association's membership and the profession as a whole.

 

To promote legislation where required that will be just and beneficial to the profession and the public, and to discourage needless and detrimental legislation.

 

To encourage the creation and adoption of American hair trends and modern methods of professional and business practices for the profession of cosmetology.

 

Definition of Cosmetology:  Cosmetology shall be defined as the performance of the following major functions:  hairdressing; hair cutting-shaping; singeing; hair coloring;

permanent waving; skin and hair care; make-up; nail care; hair removal and  shaving.
