Two Michigan Members Honored by American Cancer Society
The 2004 Sunshine Award Dinner given by the American
Cancer Society was held December 16th in Lansing, MI. This Prestigeous Award is given to one of our State Look Good Feel
Better volunteer, who has given his/her time, energy and heartfelt need to assist those Cancer patients going through
a rough time in there lives.
The National Cosmetology Association of Michigan is
PROUD to announce that for the first time ever, the American Cancer Society has chosen two receipents from
one State Association. The two illustrious winners for this Award is: Pam Hahn of Lansing and Carol Walker of Ithaca,
both of these young woman are well deserving of this Award.
This Award is nothing new to Pam as she had received
this honor a few years back and repeated this again once more. Pam has worked hard with the program, doing two monthly sessions
for Sparrow Hospital and is currently an Area Trainer for our program. Congratulations! Pam
Carol Walker has been a volunteer with Look Good Feel
Better program since its' beginning stages when over 100 volunteers were Certified into the program in 1989 at our National
Cosmetology Association Convention held that year in San Francisco. Carol has made it a point to raise funds for the Gratiot
County Cancer program and has done so that they now have a Wig bank for those women in need of a FREE wig, while going through
this ordeal. Congratulations! Carol
We are always looking for volunteers and if you would
like to be a Certified Volunteer please contact the American Cancer Society - for information. Class sessions are
free and we ask that you call ahead so that our Coordinator knows how many make-up boxes we need during our session.
