President Message
Well, life is still carrying on the Michigan Cosmetologists Association. The Design Team Michigan Looks are working on
the fall and winter release for 2008-2009 which will be presented at our one day hands-on workshop, the weekend of September
27 & 28 2008 at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt Pleasant,Michigan.
We also will be having statewide student competition for Hair by Night. In addition to this exciting weekend we will
be having a advance coloring classes. A fabulous colorist team Miguel and Babette Newman from great state of Minnesota will
be coming in to further our knowledge of advance coloring techniques.
Region 1 also has been at work developing their own exciting Carnival of Events in October.
Do remember to check our insurance benefits that are now available to our membership. Just click on the link that is

We had several of our student members compete nationally and have done very well. Rae Keely of Beaverton, Michigan
student of M.J. Murphy's of Clare Michigan competed in the premier show in Orlando Flordia and placed ninth in the wedding
category beating out the Pivot Point students.
Brittany Lewis, who has won the National Skills Competition. Our very own Styles Director and Design team leader Thomas
Pudlo coached both of these students.
Words cannot express the loss of one our own Dak Pudlo. He touched many lives in our industry and left a big gap in many
hearts with his passing. Please keep his family in your prayer and thoughts.
News of David Pressely do you know that he still goes to the schools twice a week and visits and gives advice at the age
of 102.
God Bless you all
Carol Walker President
